My word for 2014 is CREATE! I am hoping, dreaming and planning on spending more time creating, and not just doing.
Often, I get caught up in the "doing" of life. There are so many things that need to be done. Chores, responsibilities; you know, The "Should's" of life. I "should" clean house. I "should" pull weeds. I "should" do laundry. And the list can go on and on, until the creative soul inside begins to shrivel up and become dormant.
This year, I would like to release the creative spirit in me. I want to see where it soars, where it will fly! When released, where will my spirit lead me. I want to go beyond the "Should's". Is it possible that I can create something that I've never done before?
My artist soul is longing. Maybe this isn't the year for some big, great, revelation. But it is the year that I am stepping forward with intention to CREATE more. To see what my heart and my hands can form, when they work together in harmony.
Thanks for allowing me to share a peek inside of who I am.

True Love

I just have to share with you a touching love story. I was contacted by a customer asking if I could make 365 hearts. It didn't take too much to figure out that the man wanted one heart for each day of the year.
What is he doing with all these hearts? Letting his special lady know how and why he loves her like he does.
It was heart warming to work with this gentleman to help make his wishes come true for the love of his life.
What did I learn? Really it's pretty simple; TELL that special someone you love them in as many unique and creative ways you can think of. We all long to hear and to know that we are loved and valued.
An example of what the gentleman did: He wrote on each heart things that he loves or is thankful that he was able to do with his special lady. The hearts are stored in a keepsake box, for his lady to visit often and be reminded of his love.
Here are a few pictures to show the finished product.

And The Journey Continues
Yes, it has been quite some time since I've written anything. Partially due to a hurting heart, and partially due to a joyous heart.
How can that happen you ask?
Well, the hurting part of my heart has to do with my son being deployed. I'm not worried per se, but more like part of me is missing since he left the states. Kind of a different feeling in that he has been gone from home over 4 years, and has been married for a good part of that time. I think it is more the distance and being out of country, and being in the Middle East. Probably all those things combined make my mom heart a little uneasy.
Those are the times that I remember that he is God's son before he was ever our son, and that God's plans for his life are for good! PTL!
The joy comes in knowing that we are going to be first time grandparents around the first part of December. Our daughter and her husband are expecting and are so excited at becoming parents. Choosing names, registering for shower gifts, all the planning that new parents do...they are busy doing. I'm busy planning on all the cute things I can make this precious little one...ooohh it's going to be so fun.
So, maybe it is a little easier to understand the mixed emotions.
Right now, I'm working on a secret for when the baby arrives, so I can't write about it yet...but boy is it going to be fun!
Stay tuned...thanks for following.
